Stephanie Ikwueme, BSN, RN, PMHN-BC, PMHNP-BC, is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner in Sheppard Pratt’s adolescent male unit. She earned an associate degree in nursing from Montgomery College, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Frostburg State University, and a master’s degree in nursing, specializing in psychiatric mental health, from Wilkes University. Ikwueme is certified in basic life support and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She began her career as a registered nurse and then charge nurse in Sheppard Pratt’s Adolescent Child & Neuropsychiatric Unit. Ikwueme then moved to the Crisis Admissions unit at Sheppard Pratt, where she worked as charge nurse. She then went to work as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department at Medstar Harbor Hospital, the Child and Adolescent Crisis Unit at University of Maryland Medical Center, and the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit at Medstar Harbor Hospital, before returning to Sheppard Pratt. Ikwueme is also a clinical instructor for the Master of Nursing program at Johns Hopkins. She is fluent in English and Igbo.
