David Bendor, Psy.D., is a Consultant for Sheppard Pratt Solutions. Dr. Bendor received his doctorate in clinical psychology from William James College in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Hartford Healthcare’s Institute of Living in Hartford, CT. Dr. Bendor has been a staff psychologist at the Institute of Living for nearly fifteen years. He previously worked at Riverside Community Care and the Riverside Trauma Center in Newton, Massachusetts. At the Institute of Living, he initially worked on psychiatric inpatient units. For the past ten years, he has worked in the Young Adult Services division – with a primary focus on intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs.
Dr. Bendor designed, staffed, and is presently the clinical coordinator of the first Integrative Medicine IOP at the Institute of Living—where young adults suffering with co-occurring mental health and physical health conditions are treated. Dr. Bendor is passionate about utilizing technology to improve patient access to behavioral health services. He was instrumental in leading the conversion of ambulatory services to telehealth at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic for both the Institute of Living and the statewide Hartford Healthcare Behavioral Health Network. He is also a graduate of Hartford Healthcare’s Provider Leadership Development Institute.
In addition to his work at the Institute of Living, Dr. Bendor maintains a private psychotherapy practice in West Hartford, CT.
