Daniel Summers, PsyD, is a psychologist at The Retreat by Sheppard Pratt. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Tulane University and a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at Loyola University Maryland. In graduate school, he worked as a student clinician for Loyola Clinical Centers, Stevenson University Wellness Center, the United States Naval Academy, and the Department of Defense. Summers then completed a pre-doctoral internship at Lehigh University and a post-doctoral fellowship at Sheppard Pratt. He has experience caring for patients with a history of trauma, using acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and functional analytic psychotherapy, among other tools. Summers has also supported several local organizations, including B’more Clubhouse and Back on My Feet, by volunteering his services for community members experiencing mental illness and homelessness.
