Sheppard Pratt Health System Named Among Largest Employers by Baltimore Business Journal

Sheppard Pratt Ranks 12th for Employing Most People in Baltimore Region

Sheppard Pratt Health System has been ranked among the largest private-sector employers in the area by Baltimore Business Journal for employing 4,647 people in the Baltimore region. After analyzing all private-sector employees across Baltimore, Baltimore Business Journal found that Sheppard Pratt Health System ranks 12th out of the top 100 largest employers in the area. Last year, Sheppard Pratt ranked 24th out of 100.

This announcement comes as Sheppard Pratt Health System President and CEO, Dr. Harsh K. Trivedi, MD, MBA, marks the beginning of his second year leading the health system, which employs over 5,100 employees and provides more than 2.3 million services on an annual basis.

In the past year, Sheppard Pratt has expanded its community-based services and marked several major milestones—moving forward on plans to build a new hospital facility in Elkridge; expanding the health system’s telemedicine services to provide care to patients in nine Maryland counties; and becoming the inaugural member of the American Psychiatric Association’s Mental Health Registry, which will provide invaluable data to identify best practices for mental health care nationwide.

“Sheppard Pratt Health System has embarked on a journey to become the employer of choice in the region,” said Dr. Trivedi. “We are extremely grateful to all of our dedicated employees, who work hard every day to provide those we serve with the best and most compassionate care.”
