Monitored Exchange

A monitored exchange, also called a supervised custodial exchange, is a method of transferring children between parents during custodial time. Monitored exchange is often used in order to prevent interaction and conflict between the parents during the transfer. It can be court-ordered or negotiated between parties. Monitored exchange can either involve a third party simply monitoring the exchange, or prevent the parents from seeing each other entirely.
