Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Intensive outpatient programs are a level of care that is more intensive than general outpatient programs, but is less intensive than a day hospital or PHP. When participating in an IOP, individuals will see a psychiatrist several times per week, see a nurse daily, and will engage in crisis stabilization and symptom management.
IOPs are often available in the morning or evening hours, which can be beneficial for individuals who need intensive, daily treatment but are unable to miss work or school. IOPs are suitable for individuals that have a stable home environment and support system and are comfortable in a group setting.
