Sheppard Pratt School in Millersville Elementary School

The Sheppard Pratt School is a 10-month special education program located within Millersville Elementary School, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Our program serves students in grades one through five, with autism spectrum disorder, multiple disabilities, and other health impairments. Our location within Millersville Elementary School provides us shared access to the school’s facilities and resources.

Our experienced, compassionate team understands that every child deserves individualized instruction and support. When you walk into our classrooms, you notice everyone working together diligently to support our students in their academic and social achievements. 

Our multidisciplinary team includes an education director, special education teachers, program coordinators, a social worker, resource counselors, and educational assistants, all of whom are experienced and dedicated to their students. Through our robust curriculum, as well as the support we provide in general education settings, we help students meet their educational goals and prepare them for their future and life beyond the classroom.

Our students and their families benefit from the structured daily routine that we offer. We distinguish ourselves by providing:   

• Small class sizes 
• Individual and group counseling
• Speech and language therapy (as needed, provided by the local school system)
• Occupational therapy (as needed, provided by the local school system)
• Support during mainstream classes
• Resource support
• Individualized academic support

These services and activities are a small part of the diverse programming offered at Sheppard Pratt School in Millersville Elementary. As part of Sheppard Pratt, we have access to innovative training, technology, and therapies, and integrate all of these offerings into our program.

Admissions

All of our students are from Anne Arundel County; referrals to our program come directly from Anne Arundel County Public School System. We currently have capacity for 18 students in our program. 

Sheppard Pratt School in Millersville Elementary is a Type II School, approved by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).
