Admissions: Co-Occurring Disorders Unit

Individuals can be admitted to our unit in a variety of ways:

• They can be referred through the emergency room of a hospital
• They can be referred through our Psychiatric Urgent Care 

Once an individual has been referred from one of these sources, meets our admissions criteria, has been approved by our admissions department, and we have a bed available, we will admit them to the unit. Upon arrival to the unit, we will complete a nursing assessment. We also complete a safety search to ensure that no contraband items are being brought onto the unit; safety is of the utmost important to our unit. 

After the intake process, we ensure that each individual we treat is fully comfortable with their surroundings through a tour of the unit. Then, we have individuals begin engaging in treatment, such as group therapy, as soon as possible so they can establish a consistent daily routine.
